Bert and Ernie Chess Pieces
Exploring the profound dynamics between two beloved characters has always been a passion of mine. From my earliest memories, Sesame Street has been an integral part of my upbringing, with Bert and Ernie standing out as memorable embodiments of friendship and camaraderie. Their interactions on screen have not only entertained but also resonated deeply with me. For this project I wanted to show that connection with these characters by displaying their dynamic and difference in personalities. Bert on one hand is very moody and a no-nonsense type of guy where on the other hand, Ernie is a jokester and loves to mess around. Even though they are very complete opposites they still try and work through their differences. They are, after all, best friends.
My Littel Droidy
To recreate an idea that my stepdad and I came up with a few years ago. This project combines the body of a My Little Pony with the head of a Star Wars Probe Droid—a playful fusion of two things that shaped our bond. Television and movies were a big part of our connection, and this idea emerged from that shared experience. I also drew inspiration from both R2D2 and the probe droid, iconic Star Wars designs that fascinated us. When we first attempted to sculpt it from clay, the results weren’t quite what we envisioned. With this project, I wanted to revisit that memory and bring it to life in a more refined and thoughtful way.
To complete the presentation, I created custom packaging using a vacuum former for the plastic shell and Canva for the printed design. This helped me give the piece a more polished, collectible feel—like something you’d find on a toy store shelf or at a flea market.
