Lots of Love

For this project, I explored the idea of postcards and their connection to memory, distance, and communication through my relationship with my grandfather. For as long as I can remember, he has written me postcards, at least one a week throughout my life. Even now, though they come less frequently since I moved away, they remain a constant thread between us. Each card, from the image on the front to his simple updates about daily life, carries a sense of care and presence.  He has always been a major inspiration to me, the one who first encouraged my art practice and shared in making art with me.

I used screen printing to create a series of postcard variations. Additionally, I suspended individual postcards from the ceiling, some featuring my grandfather’s original messages and others containing my written responses. Through this installation, I hoped to capture the ongoing exchange between us and reflect on how these small acts of correspondence hold space across time and distance.
